We have been kind of lazy lately. I haven't broken out the camera at all. This doesn't mean we haven't done anything though, as we have. Maya is 23 months old. This is really hard to believe. She is learning so much, and has so much personality that shines through. She amazes me in what she does know.
Last Monday my Dad had his second knee replacement. Maya and I went in to visit and stay with them for 2 days at Malee's condo. What a world of difference this knee replacement has been compared to 4 years ago. He really did look good this time, all things considered. He acts and feels good also. Last time, he chose to go cold turkey off the medicine after 2 days. He said it made him sick. So you can imagine the outcome. We had a great time with them as we always do. Maya walks around asking for "grampapa, and grama". Then we have to go through and tell her that they are at home and we will see them in 2 more weeks.
While in visiting my parents I went to Primary Children's Medical Center for my final check up before our baby is due. When we were there in June, it was discovered that the velocity of blood flow through my valves was higher that they would have liked it. So as a precaution I was asked to come back at 36 weeks. Well Dr. Yetman passed me with flying colors. When it was measured this time, it was the same, so there is no concern. She had worried that as the baby grew so would more velocity of blood. This was not the case. Rob my brother on the other hand was told that he has an enlarged Aorta. So he has to be watched more closely. Our appointments were an hour apart, so my Mother was their for both. She came to every appointment with me until I got married. It was nice to have her there again. She can always think of questions that don't occur to me. While there we all have blood drawn to be part of a genetic study. The study is being done to see what gene genetic defects in on. I hope that sometime in the future it is discovered. My family is the perfect candidate, as there are two of us who were lucky enough to end up with it.
Saturday Aaron tilled down the garden. We have had so much fun this year doing our garden. Maya has been right there with us the whole time. This was no exception on Saturday morning. She would carry individual corn stalks to where we were piling them. I wish that I would have had my camera for this. It is hard to believe that October is upon us, and we will have to wait until Spring to have gardening fun again. Some of my favorites of our Gardening experience this year are:
* Maya always finding her way to the water spout and getting totally soaked
* Maya being afraid to step over the garden hose and crying until we rescued her
* Discovering many green tomatoes found their way into our ripe bag
* My personal corn helper, she carried them one by one to the basket saying "cooorn" the entire time. Also helping us shuck them when home.
* Talking with our neighbor gardeners and just enjoying life
* Maya's excitement to go to the garden anytime we mentioned it.
* Last but not least discovering how dirty Maya would get, but insist that you wipe off her hands. She is slightly OCD.
In a final note, we haven't said much this time about the pregnancy. We have 4 weeks from today until my due date. Time seems to fly. For those who don't know it is a little boy. So if you have any suggestions on boy names let me know. We have had a hard time coming up with one we liked. We are getting excited as the time draws closer. This pregnancy like Maya's has been relitively easy. No complaints other than the lack of energy. Also we started potty training Maya yesterday, we only went through 7 or 8 underwear. Hopefully today is much more productive.
